Students Design Greening Greenfield Tee-Shirt to Raise Funds for Project

T-Shirt First Place Design

The 2009 student fundraiser for Greening Greenfield started off in March 2009 with a design contest to create the winning entry for the Greening Greenfield tee-shirt. All students had a chance to work on their designs in art and science classes.

A group of parents and teachers participated in selecting the winning design.  First place went to sixth grader Will Amari. The second place award went to seventh grader Taylor Ximinies.

Tee-shirts were printed in time for the Greening Greenfield Assembly on April 21st, when the design team presented the final design for the school yard to the students - while wearing the Greening Greenfield tee-shirts.

The students then competed by class to sell the most tee-shirts.  The tee-shirts are particularly popular because they have been accepted as a new addition to the school uniform.  May 22nd was the last day of the tee-shirt selling competition - the most shirts were sold by Ms. McCarty's kindergarten class.  Through their entrepreneurial efforts, the students raised $1400 to go towards the summer 2009 Phase 1 construction of the school yard - west side.

Tee shirts continue to be sold by the Greenfield Home and School Association with the goal of raising a total of $2000 to be devoted to the Greening Greenfield construction costs.
